We get a lot of these in the garden! Do you have photos of crows, rooks etc to help me tell the difference?!

Indeed. In that case you are likely to get three species in your garden. A quick check to identify them is this. Jackdaw – depicted in this photo is smaller. Light coloured eyes. Two toned black and dark grey plumage. Carrion Crow – much larger all black (blueish tinge in direct sunlight). Rook – large all black but pale bill.
